The SEIU 1199NW Multi-Employer Training Fund is excited to participate in this year’s virtual Kaiser Permanente Workforce Development Week, which starts on Monday, Oct. 19.

During the week SEIU 1199NW Multi-Employer Training Fund members will hear from the Training Fund in two recorded sessions; “Intro to the Virtual Healthcare Institute,” with Kaiser Permanente Washington Medical Assistant Carmen Diaz and the Training Fund’s Executive Director Laura Hopkins; and “Training Fund Services and Navigation,” with Kaiser Permanente Washington Registered Nurse Cenetra Pickens and Training Fund Navigators Angelica Reveles and Melanie Bermudez-Felix.

This event is built for working professionals and can fit into any employee schedule. Each morning of the event, Kaiser Permanente will release the content for the listed sessions on their website. Employees can view the sessions that interest them at any time, as their schedule allows, even after the week is over. Most sessions will be prerecorded and less than 15 minutes. One live session — a career expert panel featuring success stories — will take place from 2-3 p.m. on Oct. 22 and will be recorded.

The virtual, go-at-your-own-pace event is open to all Kaiser Permanente employees and is a great opportunity for employees to grow their careers.

During the week employees can expect to focus on steps they can take to;

  • Explore career paths
  • Access tuition reimbursement and education trusts
  • Build in-demand skills
  • Engage with mentors, counselors, and coaches
  • Prepare for tomorrow’s jobs

“Career development is important to KPMentoring/Life,” a Kaiser Permanente event release stated.
