Tutoring

Do you need help preparing for an exam, understanding a new concept, or improving your grades? We provide high quality tutoring in multiple content areas such as math, science, English, and nursing subjects.

How to get connected with a tutor

Please connect with your assigned Regional Education Navigator (REN) to discuss your tutoring needs before requesting a tutor. Our Navigators are skilled at helping you determine what assistance you might need for your classes and can give other advice about how to be successful in school.

Find your REN

Questions? Email or call the Training Fund office at 425.255.0315.

Once your REN approves your request, they will provide you appropriate resources for your tutoring needs. Please connect with your REN for each term that you need tutoring.

Tutoring options

The Training Fund offers both online and “one-on-one” tutoring. Talk with your Regional Education Navigator to see which tutoring option is right for you.

Personal tutoring with an individual tutor

Personal tutoring provides a one-on-one connection with the same tutor on one subject for the entire term. Some of our tutors practice multiple subjects allowing you to stick with your tutor for multiple terms (depending on availability).

Due to the COVID-19 crisis, “in-person” tutoring is currently happening through Zoom or another web-based meeting platform. If you would like to be paired with an individual tutor, please select “in person” on the tutoring request form (the “online” option is for Tutor.com).

Note that it takes between 5 to 10 business days to be paired with a tutor. Don’t wait until mid-terms or finals week before asking to get connected to a tutor! Reach out early and start working with someone who can be there to help you every step of the way.

“My tutor and I have worked together to create a strategy that works for me. We get a little ahead of the material, I work through practice problems, and we review homework questions. Overall, the classes are difficult and take a lot of time, but by maintaining my commitment and support from the tutor, I’ve been very successful in getting good grades to apply for nursing programs. I’m so grateful for this benefit!”
